Here we are just a few years removed from the Obama administrations disasterous "Cash For Clunkers" program and the price of used cars is now at an astronomically high level. So high in fact that the average low income worker and even many in the middle class can no longer afford to buy a good used car. They have been forced into riding the bus by the over-inflated prices of used cars due to all the "Cash For Clunkers" trade-ins having to be destroyed. That's right, this program led to the destruction of over a half million(690,000 to be exact) used cars that are now no longer on the market for low/middle class drivers to purchase.
I have been looking for a cheap used car for the last few months and have been checking the local ads and Craigslist on a daily basis. In particular I am trying to find an older Nissan Maxima for a decent price, but the same one's that were selling for two to three thousand dollars a few years ago are now being offered for two and even three times that amount. It's made me wonder if the whole "Cash For Clunkers" program wasn't just some kind of wacknut liberal conspiracy to force more people to have to ride the bus because they can no longer afford to by a car.
The Obama administration and the liberal media sure spent a lot of time patting themselves on the back for this ill-advised, debacle of a program. That is, of course, unless the whole idea of the "Cash For Clunkers" program from the very beginning was to force more low-income people to have to ride the bus, thus having to rely more on the government to get them where they are going. How's the price of used cars in your neck of the woods these days? I'll bet a decent one will cost you two or three times what it would have three years ago. You can thank President Obama personally for that!
