Here we are just a few days removed from the Florida state prosecutor filing 2nd degree murder charges against George Zimmerman in the Trayvon martin killing and I find myself bewildered by the way the media spun the facts of this case to purposely try and create a rift between the black and white community. I mean, it started from the word go on this case when the mainstream media decided to call an obviously Latino man a "white Hispanic". Why? What possible reason could they have had for doing this except to make this a racial killing? Unfortunately it seemed the black community just bought right into this media created lie and used it to scream "RACISM!!!" at the white community like nothing else I have ever seen in my forty-five years. You were immediately labeled a racist in this case if you did not instantly support the Martin family and call for George Zimmerman's white, racist head on a platter even though the facts of the case were far from clear and George Zimmerman was not even a white man.
Even now in the media, on liberal talk shows and yes, even here on Newsvine, there are many blacks who are still perpetuating the lie that Zimmerman used the phrase "fucking coons" and that fact alone proves that he was a racist and only hunted down and killed Trayvon Martin because of the color of his skin. They refuse to acknowledge that the Florida state prosecutor stated in the affidavit of evidence that she used to charge George Zimmerman that he did not say, "fucking coons", but that he had used the phrase, "funcking punks". Why is it that a lot of the black community is still convinced that a white, no-good racist cop wanna-be chased down little Trayvon and shot him only for the color of his skin? Is it because Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton are heavily involved in this thing and can only benfit if this case continues to be a racially divided one? I'm just trying to come to an understanding on how this case turned out to be a black vs. white thing and I just don't get it.
Zimmerman is under lock and key for now, but the trial has to happen at some point in time. The evidence against him seems to be sketchy at best. I would say his chances of being convicted of 2nd degree murder are just about zero. What's going to go down when he's not sent away for life? My "Spidey senses" tell me that if he gets found not guilty communities and towns across America are going to burn. This thing has all the makings of a full scale race war in this country and I'm still not sure exactly who is responsible for turning a black teenager getting gunned down by a Latino man into a black vs. white showdown. I sincerly hope justice is done in this case. What that may be I don't really know yet because like most of you I still don't know exactly what happened that night. I'm gonna have to pray on this one because both sides have their heels dug in and refuse to even listen to the truth or any kind of reason. God help us all if justice is not done. What justice is in this case I really have no idea.
